City of Weatherford Recycling

Curbside Program
 

The City of Weatherford appreciates your interest in recycling. Our voluntary curbside recycling program allows Weatherford residents to conveniently recycle a large variety of household materials.

  • Collection: Recycling will be collected on one of your regular collection days. Recyclable materials should be placed loosely inside of your recycling container and placed by the curb in accordance with the same rules and regulations as your current twice a week bagged collection service. Your actual collection day schedule will be attached to your cart when it is delivered to your home.

  • Cart Fee: There is a non-refundable one-time cart fee of $ 55.00 plus sales tax. If the cart is lost, damaged or stolen you will be charged another $ 55.00 cart fee plus sales tax.

  • Service Fee: Participants agree to participate in the program for an initial period of 12 months. On the 13th month, customers may cancel their service at anytime. While participating in the program, customers will be billed $ 2.50 per month plus sales tax on their regular utility bill.

  • Recycling Cart Storage: Participants agree to store their cart in a location that is not visible from the public street.

  • Recycling Application: Residents who are interested in participating in the voluntary recycling program must complete an application and return or fax it to Customer Service.

    Hazardous Disposal Program
     

    Weatherford residents may now take Household Hazardous Waste to the Fort Worth Environmental Collection Center (ECC.) Residents must purchase a voucher through Customer Service located at Weatherford City Hall. Identification such as your driver’s license and the purchased voucher must be presented to the ECC operator at the time of drop off. Voucher fee is $ 47.00 ea.

    ECC regular business hours: Thursdays & Fridays 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturdays 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM The ECC is closed on city Holidays The ECC is located @ 6400 Bridge St. Ft. Worth Texas.

    From Weatherford take I20 East to I30 continue through downtown Ft. Worth take exit 21 c Bridgewood Drive, turn left, then turn left on Bridge St. ECC will be on the right.     Items accepted: Aeresol Cans, Antifreeze, Batteries, Brake Fluid, Cooking Oil, Craft Chemicals, Degreasers, Drain Cleaner, Fertilizer, Flourecent Lights, Herbicides, Household Chemicals, Motor Oil, Paints, Stains, Paint Thinners, Pest Strips, Pesticides, Pahrmaceuticals, Photo Chemicals, Pool Chemicals, Oil Filters, Solvant, Transmission Fluid, Varnish.

  • Brush Collection Fee
  • $ 5.00 per cubic yard $ 10.00 minimum

  • Bulk Pick Up Collection Fee
  • $ 25.00 for the first cubic yard $ 10.00 per cubic yard there after.

  • Appliances Collection Fee
  • $ 15.00 per appliance

    About Brush Collection

    Brush collection is provided once per month for paying customers who reside inside of city limits for an additional charge.

  • Tree trimmings

    Where to Place Your Brush

    Residents may place their brush near their curb the weekend prior to their monthly scheduled collection day.

    Bulk Garbage

    Bulk Garbage Collection

  • Bulk Garbage collection is provided once per month for paying customers who reside inside of city limits.

  • Bulk Garbage consists of household waste to large for regular garbage collection such as furniture, lumber, appliances, etc.

  • Residents may place their Bulk Garbage near their curb, clear of low power lines, trees, water meter, gas meters, cable boxes and mail boxes the weekend prior to their monthly scheduled collection day.

  • Chemicals
  • Air conditioners
  • Refrigerators with compressors still connected

    Please Note

  • Refrigerators can only be collected if a licensed technician has properly removed the refrigerant and compressor from the unit.

  • A copy of the certificate from the technician shall be provided.

  • This copy will be kept on file.

     

  • Composting Information
     

    Residents are welcome to obtain and load your own mulch by going to 810 East Oak Street.

     

    Electronics Recycling
     

    Residents may place telivisions and computer monitors at their curb site during the normal bulk collection schedule. The fee is $ 15.00 per unit.

     

    Recycling at School
     

    Weatherford Independent School District takes part in the Abitibi retriever program in which yellow and green containers are located at each school for paper recycling. Paper that is accepted includes mail, junk mail, computer paper and office paper. No cardboard or plastics are accepted in these containers.
