Curbside Program

 

Kaufman County does not have curbside recycling. However residents may drop off their recyclables at one of the three locations below.

Kaufman Recycling Center

Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Materials Accepted: Aluminum cans, steel cans, newspaper, magazines, telephone books, office paper, glass containers, plastics #1-7

Free recycling: Oil and oil filters can be recycled at Pct. 1 maintenance barn at 600 N. Nash in Kaufman

Brush can be dropped off for chipping at Pct. 1 barn
Free self serve mulch can be picked up at this site.
Solid waste disposal with permit at this location.

Terrell Recycling Center

Materials Accepted: Aluminum cans, steel cans, newspaper, office paper, telephone books, magazines, paperback books, oil and oil filters, plastic bottles and jugs, brush.

Located on US 175 and Plainview Drive

Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Materials Accepted: Aluminum, Cardboard (No waxed cardboard accepted. Please break down boxes before placing them in container.), Batteries (car, lithium, and rechargeable)
Eye Glasses, Glass bottles
Metal , Motor Oil and oil filters
Newspaper, shredded paper, office paper, magazines and junk mail
Plastics #1 and #2 (look for national recycling symbol with number on bottom of bottles)
Tires—limit 4 tires per person per day
Tin—household food cans must be rinsed.

Free recycling: Oil and oil filters can also be recycled at Pct. 3 maintenance barn at 601 E. Nash in Terrell.
Solid Waste Disposal with permit at this location.

 

Multi-Family Program

 

Mulit-Family residents can take their recycleables to one of the sites listed above.
