Curbside Program
 

Curbside Recycling Program

  • Once a week recycling pickup for residents receiving city solid waste collection service.
  • Recyclables must be set out by 7 a.m. on recycling day.
  • Be sure to flatten all boxes (unflattened boxes will be treated as trash).
  • Place recyclables at least three feet from the trash.
  • Set trash and recyclables away from sprinkler systems.
  • Use Blue Bags for recycling only.
  • Please don't let bags go over 50 pounds.
  • All items may be placed in the blue bags.

    Glass containers, Aluminum cans, Tin cans, Aerosol cans, Steel cans, Telephone books / paperback books, Paperboard / chipboard, Mixed paper, Paper grocery bags, Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, Corrugated cardboard, #1 Plastic, #2 Plastic, #3 Plastic, #4 Plastic, #5 Plastic, #7 Plastic (other),

     
    Multi-Family Program
     

    Drop Off Recycling Centers
    Irving offers this opportunity by contracting with Resource Rescue Inc., who operates two attended drop-off recycling centers which are located in easily accessible areas throughout Irving. All the materials accepted in the curbside recycling program(see above) are also accepted at the drop off centers. Additional materials accepted at Irving's drop-off recycling centers only include VHS tapes and cases, CD's/DVD's and cases, cell phones, textiles for donation and empty toner and inkjet cartridges.

    Recycle Center Locations:

  • 3000 Rock Island Road(westside parking lot)
  • 8555 Home Depot Drive (east corner of the Home Depot parking lot. This Home Depot is located off of MacArthur and Interstate Highway 635)

    10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

    Saturday & Sunday
    9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

    Hazardous Disposal Program
      The City of Irving is a partner with Dallas County's Household Hazardous Waste Network. Irving residents may participate in the programs offered by the Household Hazardous Waste Network free of charge with proof of residency - current drivers license and utility bill.     Yard Trimmings Program
      The City of Irving provides weekly collection of brush and bulky waste to residents receiving city solid waste services. The city grinds the brush collected as part of this program into mulch and makes it available for purchase. To learn more about Irving's Mustang Mulch, call Solid Waste Services at 972-721-8059.

     
    Composting Information
      The City of Irving offers backyard composting education via the Master Composter Training Course (Spring only) and two hour classes (various times throughout the year).

     
    Electronics Recycling
     
    Irving is also recycling electronics now. Electronics accepted include:
  • all types of computer circuit boards and cards
  • computers and laptops
  • CPU's and PC's
  • docking stations
  • monitors
  • data storage devices
  • bridges,hubs and modems
  • cell phones
  • telephone equipment
  • cabling and wire
  • electrical hardware
  • VCRs, fax machines, copiers, printers, scanners, and consumer game devices

    • Not accepted are WYSE or dumb terminals, TVs of any kind, hazardous materials, radioactive materials, microwaves.
