Recyclables are collected once a week on one of your regular garbage collection days by a separate recycling truck. In the bin or blue bag please place glass bottles or jars, plastic bottles and jugs, alumninum cans, steel cans, newspapers, magazines, phone books, junk mail, and boxes. Cardboard boxes need to flattened and placed under the bin or blue bag. Place your recycling container near the same place you put your garbage by 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Each household will receive one free recycling bin. To get your bin you can go to the Prairie Paws Adoption Center at 222 West Warrior Trail or the City of Grand Prairie Landfill at 1102 MacArthur Blvd. It will have an informational brochure on when your pick up day will be and what materials should go in the bin.
