Material Descriptions

Aluminum, Steel, Tin
Soda cans, aerosol cans, food containers, etc

Appliances
"white goods", refrigerators, stoves, freezers, air conditioners, washers/dryers, etc

Batteries
Single-use batteries or rechargeable batteries

Cardboard
Packaging boxes, frozen food boxes, cereal boxes, etc

Electronics
Computers, monitors, mice, televisions, etc.

Glass
Jars, bottles, beverage containers, etc.

Hazardous Waste Disposal
Acids, degreasers, fertilizers, herbicides, paints, paint thinners, etc. The items accepted at a hazardous waste facility are disposed of in an environmentally-responsible manner, but not all items are or can be recycled.

Light Bulbs
Compact fluorescent lights bulbs (CFLs), other fluorescent light bulbs (e.g. long tube, typically seen in offices, warehouses, etc.), or standard incandescent light bulbs. North Central Texas area Home Depots only accept CFLs for recycling. Where recycling options are limited, because light bulbs (especially fluorescent light bulbs) contain chemicals, please dispose of them through your local household hazardous waste collection center

Carpet, carpet padding, ceramics, ink jet/toner cartridges, concrete, textiles, packaging materials, styrofoam, etc.

Paper
Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, telephone directories, office paper, colored paper, catalogs, etc.

Plastics
Water and soft drink bottles, laundry detergent bottles, milk jugs, margarine containers, plastics numbered 1-7, etc.

Scrap Metal Salvage
Non-ferrous or ferrous scrap metal, etc.

Tires
Rubber tires from cars, SUVs, trucks, 18 wheelers, etc.

Used Auto Fluids/Filters
Auto oil, antifreeze, oil filters, etc

Used Cooking Oil
Vegetable oil, etc.

Wood Waste
Scrap wood from fencing, furniture, etc. This item is typically accepted without nails, screws, wood stain, or paint.

Yard Waste
Leaves, grass clippings, limbs, brush, dirt, rocks, etc
