There are various ways that people and partners around the community are coming together for environmental causes. Here we list a few such opportunities with some brief information, including opportunities for schools, school districts, elementary and college students, as well as a few more.

North Central Texas Council of Governments
NCTCOG/TCEQ - State Solid Waste Implementation Grant Funds
https://www.nctcog.org/envir/materials-management/grants

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) announces on a regular basis a call for projects for the State solid waste implementation funds. These funds are generated by solid waste disposal fees collected by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and are the only TCEQ funds available for solid waste implementation projects to local governments in Texas. The grants are administered on a biannual basis. The minimum request for funds is $15,000.

Eligible political jurisdictions including cities, counties, school districts, and special districts with solid waste authority are encouraged to submit project applications for local and cooperative implementation activities consistent with the Regional Solid Waste Management Plan.
